Does anyone here own any Oryon Collection Napoleonics? If so, what are your impressions?

Darrell

Darrell,

Since I am curious too, I thought I will bring up your question again now that many of their sets are out. They look great in the photos.

I think they might be 1/35 scale because I know their WW2 line is 1/35 scale.

http://www.squadron.com/ The Orion Napoleonic figures are on sale this month in Squadron Shops monthly supplement. They are advertised has 54mm. There are 11 sets of three figures each on sale from $31.46-44.96 a set depending on the painting. There new wwll sets are 35mm-I think, not sure.
My friend ordered three sets from Squadron and was impressed with the figures so he ordered the rest of the sets. Toy Soldier magazine gave the Italian company a good review on the figures. Improved painting and sculpting done in China. John

John,

Thanks for the info on Squadron, less then $11 each for high quality painted 54mm metal figures is a good deal! I just ordered a few sets.

Oryon has an interesting history. They use to build plastic models as Esci, then they produced metal tanks in 1/72 scale and aircraft in 1/48 as CDC. I have many of their tanks and they are well made. Matchbox bought out their tank line and Franklin Mint took over their aircraft line, which they are still making. So, now they are making WWII figures in 1/35 and Civil War and Napoleon figures in 54mm.

Once I receive the sets I will post an opinion on them as to quality and actual size.

Thanks Ken; I talked with my friend and his only complaint was the stands are a little thicker. I did not know they made the Esci figures. I have their Esci 1/72 and 1/35 figure sets in plastic. I also noticed their advertisement in Toy Soldier Collector magazine. The following series are coming out:
1/35 Historical series 1001- Benito Mussolini
1/35 Hitler
Napoleonics are 54mm new British sets:
6017 Black Watch 42 Regt. 1815
6018 Glasgow Highland 71st Regt. 1815
6019 1st Regt. of Foot Guards 1815
6023 Light Infantry 95th Regt. of Rifles 1811
Also more 1/35 wwll Historic Battle Series
3009-Crimea-Nov.43-May 44.
3015-Stalingrad Summer 1942- Winter 1943
3018-Battle of Britain July-Sept. 1940.
I wish they were made in 1/32 scale. John

Hi Ken,
Have you received the Oryon figures yet? What is your opinion of them?

Cheers,
Benjamin
