Aside from the LCT-6, the M7 Priest "Texas Special" was my favorite release at the show. Here are some of pictures from the show of the M7 plus the add-on 3-figure set.

What do you guys think of this release?

I think it looks great , I bought the 8 th army version
but to be honest I prefer the US one .The add on
looks pretty sharp aswell .

This my favourite release from Chicago this year.I've really wanted a Priest for Normandy and here it is,looks a superb release and the crew look good too.

After having seen both (and owning the Desert variety), I still prefer the Desert one; I think it's superbly weathered and made.

My research says that the Texas Special served in the conflict around Cassino with these markings and also served earlier in N. Africa with a different camo scheme. Cool isn't it?

I just got my shipment of the stuff I got at the Chicago Show, including one of the Chicago Show Special M7 Priests. This vehicle was one of the 30 vehicles bearing a Chicago Show stamp used on the Stun and Awe diorama and did not include a crew. Comparing this M7 to the Desert M7, I noticed that there are differences and it is not simply a paint variation. The compartment has the additional armor plates added to protect the ammo and the rear deck has a different configuration with some raised areas.

I opened the box holding the Texas Special M7 Priest and once again the new packaging has worked. There were no broken or bent parts including the .50 MG barrel and the vulnerable gun sight and elevation wheel assembly. The MG fit into the mg ring - it required a bit of twisting back and forth but it went all the way in and it rotates. The 105 mm gun elevates and rotates the approximate arc that it should. The model is solid as a rock - nothing like the Grant with it's delicate fenders. The tracks and wheels are straight.

The finish is very metallic looking with paint realistically worn down to bare metal on the parts that wear down to the hinges on the floor. The rust on the floor of the fighting compartment, the back deck and the wheel assemblies is very realistic and blends in beautifully. The decals are well done and appropriately coated in grime. The figures are more expressive than in the past and are full size in height compared to K&C figures but a bit skinnier. They stand well even though they have no bases.

The only problems were a surface paint chip on the toe of one boot and the paint on a part of the round seat was loose and flaked off when I touched it.

I am really impressed with this model. It's been sent to join the dozer Sherman and stack Sherman on the beach.

I took some closeups of the Texas Special M7 Priest. The rust on the model (rear deck, floor of fighting compartment) is about the best I have seen. There was some loose paint on the top of the 2 rear deck heat vent covers, which I scrapped off with my finger. I will ask Figarti for some touchup paint for that small repair.
