Other Crusades Manufacturers? (1 Viewer)

I am thinking of starting to pick up some of FL Crusades figures (already bidding on a few on eBay.) One thing I wondered is whether other discerning FL collectors mix their Crusades figures with the figures of other manufacturers. I would describe myself as a "limited mixer." I find some ranges mix well, but others don't. For instance, I do not mix FL WWII figures with any other manufacturers figures, but do mix in other manufacturers vehicles. I also don't mix any other manufacturers with my FL Glory of Rome figures.

I do some limited mixing of FL Napoleonics with other manufacturers.

I could not get accurate search results to reveal them, but am do remember seeing posts mixed into threads on scale, sculpting and painting issues where individual members mentioned they do mix some other manufacturers with FL Agincourt and Crusades figures.

First Legion is my primary manufacturer I collect, but I am often looking for other manufacturers to supplement them.

Thanks,

Larry

I actually think they go well with K&C. Of course Russian makers are very compatible.

In terms of history, FL crusaders (Battle of Acre) and K&C [(3rd Crusades since there was Richard Lionheart and Saladin (and a host of other characters I have not heard of)] is 100 years apart. The FL Muslims are Mamluks while the K&C Muslims are Saracens - 2 distinct and different groups of Muslims, and of course, 100 years apart. If getting historical details right is important, this could be a deal-breaker.

Having compared them in person, FL crusade series (1st batch) figures seem slightly bigger than K&C and the colour scheme more sombre. FL's recent 5 releases are more colourful but I have not seen them in the flesh yet. Depending on individual tastes, may work for some people visually if displayed together. May not work for others, so it's better to compare them in the flesh for yourself.

K&C goes quite well with FL Crusaders line and match up nicely size/scale-wise. I'd love to add some St. Petersburg guys...some day, some day {sm4}.
