Hello All. Don Pielin, the organizer of the OTSN show is contemplating adding an area at this year's Chicago show dedicated specifically to displays only. We would like your input about this idea and if you like it, some support to get some space reserved for a fantastic display we have planned.
Treefrog Treasures, in conjunction with Beau Geste has had plans in the works for almost a year for a spectacular Delhi Durbar display. As many of you may know this is Beau Geste's specialty area--they plan to keep releasing new Delhi Durbar pieces until they have produced figures representing the entire parade of 1903! For this year's show we would like to make a display reproducing the parade with all the Delhi Durbar sets they have made so far. Daniel may be sculpting parade-goers specifically to line the streets of this display and it should be outstanding.
Don hasn't decided for sure if he wants to go ahead with a display area or not, so I thought some public opinion would be helpful. Give us your views here on the forum and if you want to see the Durbar display at this year's show be sure to let him know too! You can contact Don at dimestores@aol.com to voice your opinion.

Hi Shannon

I think that is an excellent idea! I lookforward to seeing the entire set on display. Would you please pass on to Daniel that when he makes the prade goers to please include some "off duty" soldiers from a couple of the regiments that were in India. As a former soldier I always love a parade especially when I am not marching in it. Since I have nearly all of the Britains line for the Durbar I am really looking forward to adding the great sets they are building at Beau Geste. Thanks for the info!

Dave

I talked with Don tonight and our Delhi Durbar display is a go. We will be setting up our display in the area where the Wm. Britains people are usually set up, right across from where people get their buttons to get into the show. This will be the 25th anniversary of the OTSN show and it sounds like it's going to be even more fantastic than ever. Every time I go I find it even more enjoyable than the last and I am looking forward to seeing many of you in person this year.

Hi Guys..could you pls tell me the dates and generally what is it about ,ive never been to anything like a expo and would like some info....regards ern.

Great idea, one of my favorite stops is Bill Moores room as he always has a great K&C set up with the diorama pieces done by our own Warbuff26.
It,s way to early to start counting the days till OTSN. My trip last year was semi ruined when my wife had an appendecites attack and I had to leave Friday night.
I will make her have a complete physical before going this year.
Just about 4 months away, yipee.

Great idea! I am a durbar fan (among other things) and have built my own durbar parade comprised of figures from Beau-Geste, Marlborough, Britains (old and new), Nostalgia, Somerset, Nickelson, Tradition, Bill and Kay Speer, Hocker, and others. It now occupies more than 18 feet of shelf space (218 inches long by 12.5 inches deep). Right now, I have 22 elephants, but aiming for more than 30. Keep it up Beau-Geste and Marlborough.

Send us pictures! You can either post them to the forum or we can add them to our photo gallery. I especially want to see all the elephants!
