K&C has announced the forthcoming release this year of Ottoman Tirkish infantry to accompany the previous release of the Australian Light Horsemen at Beersheba. In February, Osprey Publishing will be issuing a book in their Warrior series on this topic:

Ottoman Infantryman 1914-18
Warrior 145
Author: David Nicolle
Illustrator: Christa Hook
About this book
Following the Balkan Wars of 1912–1913, the Ottoman Empire undertook a massive military retraining program. Although many histories have depicted the Ottomans as a poor fighting force, this was more often due to poor leadership and logistics. The typical Ottoman soldier, the asker, was tough, well-trained, and courageous. While fighting over varied terrain from Gallipoli, to Mesopotamia and to the Caucasus, they proved themselves to be able front-line troops. This is the first English-language book to focus exclusively on the Ottoman infantryman in the First World War. Using a combination of first-hand accounts, period photographs and specially commissioned artwork, it explores the recruitment, training, and combat experiences of these often–neglected warriors.

Randy,

thanks for the images of the new Turks, I had seen the machine gunner master before, so its great seeing the rest of the troops. I'm planning on seeing the real uniforms in June when I goto Istanbul and visit the Army Museum, so I'll check the deatils and report back in July,

Those Turks look good. It's good to see some combatants from different countries.Of course I would love to see the Turks fighting Vlad Dracula and the Wallachians or The Serbs,Greeks,Bulgarians, etc.;)You get the message don't you Andy.

very nice figure but a little unstable , centre of gravity too towards the flag . And the hand don't have a hole to receive the pole, only a notch !

"The typical Ottoman soldier, the asker, was tough, well-trained, and courageous"......from Polar Bear initial post in this thread

I might agree with this as my understanding is that after the Korean War Truce the only country that got all their POWs back from North Korea (IE: no defectors that wanted to stay) was Turkey.
