This is a series from the BBC about WWI that is currently on Netflix and is a dramatization of accounts by those who fought there. The first episode is about the 4th Fusiliers at Mons and it's terrific.

There are only three episodes on Netflix so I don't know if more were made or are planned. The second one is about the Pals regiment and look forward to watching it in the next couple of days.

Watched the 3 episodes the other day and found them very well done. Very POV and personal. Really liked the 3rd episode about serving in a tank. Have not seen anything like it on WW1 tanks before. Episode 2 about the Somme was also very well done and was one of those 'Paths of Glory' type things about the common infantryman falling victim to military 'justice'. -- Al

Despite the best of intentions, I never got around to watching the second and third episodes until yesterday.

In my opinion, the second one about the Pals battalion, the Manchesters, was the best: the Somme, sticking with your mates and the requirements of duty.

The third one about serving inside a Mark IV was different and well done.

All three episodes are well worth watching and are still available on Netflix.

Too bad they didn't make more but they probably got across the message of the experience of the British soldier serving during WW I.
