not verbatim...but the gist of it was...

"if you're not gonna take them out of the box and display them...then I don't collect them"...

I was tired of looking at "red boxes"...so I cleared a shelf off and unpacked my Snow Shoes above my Jacobites...

Oh yeah for sure Mike, no point having em if they are just stored away in boxes. How can you enjoy them that way !! (to me that is just hoarding)

That looks great! I would put one of those white mattes underneath, like they sell for Christmas house decorations, and a few bare tress. Looking good!

That's a good idea Walt...I think I'm gonna build a permanent shelf display inside a wooden frame...ideally...I would like a permanent display with the Woodland's Scenic snow covering the bases of the figures...but I have heard more than one story about it damaging the resin of John's buildings (block houses/log cabins) and am afraid to leave it long term on the bases...so your mat might be the right idea...

Great collection on both the snow shoes and Jacobite's. Mike dont you think the Rangers look a little outnumbered? I hope John is coming out with more sets some day.

That's the first thing I thought when I set them up Titus...

not enough Rangers...

the French claim to have had roughly 300 Indian and French present at the battle...

Roger's reported 600-700 attacking them...

the Rangers had 180 documented on the expedition...

I guess nobody knows for sure...

but John's ratio is probably close to realistic even if my accident...

still..............................

I want more of each...

I hope John is coming out with more sets some day.

There has been so much speculation of the series ending after the finishing of the three celebrity figures...(Langy, Durantaye and Rogers)...

I just don't think John would stop if his customers want it...he may not relish doing it...I know he wants to go other directions...and not to "beat a dead horse"...but just like B of M...I think he would do some more just to make his customers happy...he's cursed...he's just too nice a guy.

Your welcome.The Snowshoes range is great looking.I actually have two shelves set up.One is the militia and indians searching for the rangers the other is the marines and indians running into the rangers.I also use the Christmas mats and have trees and rocks.You can get a lot of nice looking trees with snow on them from Lemax.I have also used the bags of snow you can get to cover the bases and it looks good.I don't use it now because the type around here isn't animal friendly.I also have used that artifical snow in a can to spray the trees and make them more snowy.
