After I just recently obtained K&C's new Imperial Japanese Navy's "Zero" set# JN 001 my old 1:32 scale plastic 21st Century Toys version of a Japanese "Zero" seemed rather redundant. The 21st century Toys "Zero" I wanted to replace with some sort of WW2 Pacific Theatre / Asia related item as it will be placed just below my WW2 USAAF Major Bong's P-38 Fighter airplane which only fought in the Pacific.
By chance I finally found at K&C's web-site a P-40 "Flying Tiger" 1:30 scale Fighter airplane, set# AF 018. The initial production date by K&C for this model was 2012.
The volunteers for what became called the Flying Tigers formed up in Burma in latter months of 1941 and saw much action with the Japanese air forces in China. between late December 1941 and early July 1942 when this organization became part of the USA's 14th Air Force.
In any case, this is a very neat looking air plane with the 'Flying Tiger" markings being an iconic image.
Please see photos below.
