Package Shipments to Australia (1 Viewer)

This may be known to many of you, especially our Australian members, but I was preparing to send a package to one of our Australian members and discovered that due to Covid, Australia has blocked packages to be sent by first class mail and priority. The only option is priority mail express international, which is expensive.

Does not surprise me cobber. Aussie Post is under siege at the moment with parcels as more and more people buy online rather than shop at Shopping Centres because of Covid fears. What used to take a couple of days from State to State are now taking 10 days. International is even worst. Took 38 days to get a parcel from young Julie at treefrog. Not her fault.



We can only hope things get better in the future. You might want to mention to USPS that their normal postage prices are beyond belief.{eek3}

But now for a good news story from OZ ....

Over the past couple of months I have been getting some packages of MHSP castings in from an Eaby seller in France and they have been delivered to me within 8 days !!! The longest wait for that it AUS customs, so it seems that French Post is providing a very speedy service.

Interestingly when I get packages from the other side of this 'wide brown land' thats a10 day wait at best !!!!

That is correct Brad, no first class or priority service to AU, just express, which costs a small fortune.

USPS raised their rates 10/07, then raised them again "temporarily" on 12/01, they jammed everyone until 12/24, rates are going back to pre 12/01 levels tomorrow.

OH, but on 1/09, they are raising their rates yet again.

So TWO rate increases in 3 months.

That's just all sorts of awesome.

Hong Kong Post have suspended shipments of parcels to Australia. The CCP are still really P.O.ed with the Aussie Government.

Is it just airmail or is it surface mail too? I recently placed an order with K&C, and they shipped it by courier at their own expense since Hong Kong Post is not shipping via airmail to Canada right now.
