My Britain's are all packed away in dust proof containers and the base of my Rorke's Drift diorama is covered with a sheet of plastic. We will be pulling out on Friday morning to head south for the winter. Mice will probably come into our old farm house while we are away and I have a picture in my head of a family of them moving into my model of the Rorke's Drift hospital.
During the winter, I will be combing the flea markets and antiques malls for toy soldiers. Last year I saw a plastic bag of damaged soldiers at a flea market. Most were missing arms or had broken rifles, all lacked paint. Now that I know things like that are easy to repair, I will try to find the dealer again in hope that he bag is still there. There must have been fifty soldiers. Only a few were Britain's so I didn't buy it. There is one dealer that i know there who carries a small number of limited edition Britain's so I'll be checking out what he has available.
Last year my best find, I think, was my pair of 4.7" naval guns. I found them and two Fort Henry guards in an antique shop near Gainesville, Fl.
I'll still be reading this forum and will post whenever but from Florida not PEI.
