I’m starting a diorama and am using insulating foam sheets as the base. I want to paint the edges black and the base (under the grown cover). What type of paint is best for going on the foam?

Hi, Zack, I use craft store acrylics for jobs like that. They're inexpensive but will cover well. I would prime the base, too, which will help with adhesion.

Brands that I use ar Americana, Folk Art, and Apple Barrel. They're all available at the chain stores-Michael's, AC Moore, and Hobby Lobby.

But for that matter, you could use a matte black primer from Rustoleum or Krylon, too.

Hope that helps, prost!

You're welcome Larry. The guy has done many dioramas, contributed to the WB magazine "The Standard" and has his own Toy Soldier Museum
