We are pleased to present our latest vehicle for ever expanding Stalingrad range, VEH004 Panzerkampfwagen III Ausf J (Late). The Panzer III was the primary German Tank of 1941-1942. Our version, the J (Late), was armed with the 50mm KwK 39 L/60 gun and two 7.92mm MG 34 machine guns, though ours has a third MG34 setup as an Anti-Air Machine gun for added protection against roving enemy fighters. Our version also includes the 20mm spaced armor on the gun mantlet and front hull superstructure. We have decided to depict a tank from the 24. Panzer Division, the famed “Leaping Horseman,” which was destroyed at Stalingrad along with the rest of the 6th Army. The tank comes with the crew figure shown scanning for targets with his bincoulars and, as with all of our vehicles, he may be displayed both inside and outside of the opening and closing commander's hatch.

The vehicles has the following features....

- The commander's hatch opens and closes
- Full bodied crew figure may be displayed inside or outside of the vehicle
- Fully rotating turret
- The gun raises and lowers
- Ball mounted hull machine gun moves
- Anetenna can be raised or lowered
- Turret Rear Stowage Hatch Opens and Closes
- Anti-Air Machine Gun
- 20mm Spaced Armor on Mantlet and Hull Superstructure

VEH004 Panzerkampfwagen III Ausf J (Late) - $299.95

Great release Matt, I have already placed my pre-order....Stalingrad Series is a tremendous product line.....First Legion products are a collection of history not toys...great attention to detail and accuracy......Keep up the good work....best regards Frank

The model looks absolutely superb. Out of curiosity - is the AA cupola mounted MG separate or does it come fixed on the turret? Glad also to see the tank riders look as good on the PZKw III as they do on the Stug. Any idea when an Afrika Korps version might follow - and can it be a 21st Pz vehicle!

The Soviet ATG looks equally fantastic.

I would be interested in an Afrika Corps version of this vehicle. I got a look at the Afrika Corps version of the 8-Rad, and I thought it was very nice.

Thanks gentlemen, glad you guys like it.

As for some questions that were asked.

1. The AA MG is fixed.
2. Afrika Version - maybe, undecided as of yet.

I would be interested in one for AK as well, since that is my primary area of collecting.

How about Eighth Army as well. C'mon Matt, you know you want to do it :)

AK is also my favorite area of collection. I have the one First Legion AK figure put out so far and can say that the figure is quite impressive up close and even better than the photos show. I have mine sitting on the rails of the antenna of the SdKfz 232 and can vouch that it is a well designed, superbly painted, and realistically posed figure.

Matt,
If it’s undecided about the AK version of the PzIII, is Afrika Korps as a continued subcategory in question?

So far from a German perspective all the vehicles produced by FL, including a single battery of the StuG.III Ausf.F/8 (1./Sturmgeschutz-Abteilung 242) work in Afrika.

I'll let you guys know what I think of the Pz.III once I get my hands on it.

I'm looking forward to your review , you always do such a nice job . I think your reviews are very helpful to perspective collectors and current collectors alike . Of course they had me at the pre-order  Gebhard

Hi, Rick,

Absolutely not, the DAK range will go forward with additional releases and I'm sure we'll do a Panzer III version for it. I guess I misspoke, it's not that we're not sure if we'll do it, it's more that it's not in the pipeline yet. We have other things we're doing first. ;)

Best,

Matt

What are your plans for 8th Army? How about a British Armored Car in the markings of the 11th Hussars patrolling the wire?

Some info says they were 3 or 6 Ausf F in Sturmgeschütz-Batterie 90 of the 10.Panzer Division (detached from Sturmgeschutz-Abteilung 242 in Russia). I have seen another source claiming they were 4 Ausf F/8 which landed in Tunisia in November 1942.

So how do you like the 232 Rick? Could you post a photo of it. I'd like to see how you have it.
