Isn't a Panzer V-a a Panther? If it is, then K&C did one wood panther (very early on), and three polystone panthers (the original, the ambush and the winter).
You can find all the info on production stats of the German army on http://www.feldgrau.com/afvstats.html . 5976 panthers were produced during the war.
There were about 6200 of the various models of the Panzer V produced during the war, Peter Chamberlains book The Encyclopedia of German Tanks of WWII covers the period of 1933 - 1945. Exceptional detail and a ton of pictures. I highly recommend picking up a copy.
