Have to admit that I can't think of Pappy Boyington without envisioning Robert Conrad in Battle of the Network Stars. Not a pretty memory.

That is a wonderful diorama all around ... figures, plane, ground work, extra details and photography.
I like the extra touches like the dog, extra prop, tables and such ... make it all believable.

Robert Conrad is very much etched into my mind too having grown up with the tv series as a little boy. To be honest, when I saw the actual photo of Boyington later on, I was quite disappointed that he didn't look as cool as Conrad. lol.

Thanks for your compliments! All the diorama items are scartch-built including the tent, base, table (and the books on it), bench, clothes hanger, PA system, safari bed, wooden walking platform and two of the trees. The other three trees were bought and then painted.(trees are so time consuming!)

Thanks! I have a few dogs and use them for different dioramas. I feel they add realism and at the same time remove some the harshness of war in a scene like that. Hoping to find more dogs, cats and chickens, etc.
