Paragon has posted pics on their page of new Alamo defenders! They look pretty good!

Pretty good but to me they look like conversions of his earlier produced figures. The Apache scout, a buckskin scout and from the horse handlers the sitting firing pistol. I hope he only does one set of each -Texicans and Mexicans then move on to something new and different.

With so little new plastic coming out beggars can,t be choosey. But I just can,t figure out how a company can make any profit or even break even when you make a set of 4 figures with the theme being the Alamo. It is such a limited area. How many people would buy duplicate bags of these figures? One bag would cover any needs.
I feel the same about companies doing cowboys, one bag and you have all you need.
Well it,s there money not mine and I truely wish them luck.

Well, you can use lots of cowboys for the ol' west, but there were only around 200 defenders at the Alamo, depending on which history you read. And, considering that this will be the 4th Alamo defender set out, I'm not so sure there is a crying need for them. I'm no fan of Conte, but those figures done by his company are really very nice, regardless of the fact that they were a hodge-podge of figures from other sets.
But we still have CTS, plus the new TSSD which also look good.

I'd still like to see someone produce at least one more big, well-rounded Alamo defenders set before companies take a break from the period. Maybe 8-10 poses (or more), "standard" action poses (firing, loading, etc) to balance out the hand-to-hand releases, and ideally all in civilian dress. Mind you, I'll take as many longrifles and hunting shirts as I can get, but Alamo defenders in townsmen clothes--more Oliver Twist than Natty Bumppo, to borrow from Stephen Hardin--is a fairly significant niche with room to fill.

Plus, I think some recent posts by other forum members have shown defenders in 1830s civilian dress can be pretty versatile.

Pretty good action. They do have that look as if they have be whittled rather than sculpted. I'd like some.

Me for one, I will buy several sets and convert the hell out of them.
