Just saw that Matchbox re-released their old 1/72 scale NATO paratroopers. So I'm wondering (with crossed fingers) if anyone knows whether or not they will upsize these to 1/35 or 1/32 scale...

Amen to that! And upsize the WW2 Australians and Japanese for good measure. Not sure if there is much likelihood of 35 year old sets getting this kind of treatment at this stage of the game, but it sure would be nice.

I would have also loved to see a set of Matchbox WW2 Russians. The sculptor (Phil Farmer, I believe?) did at least one 1/72 Russian in the Matchbox style in hard plastic for the T 34 kit. Wish we could have had a whole set in soft plastic. I like the Matchbox style. Nice details and reasonably accurate, but still light-hearted enough to be recognizable as kid's toys.
