It's hard to believe that over 40 years ago I was marching my Scots Guards across the searing dunes in full parade dress uniform!!(Those Brits can take it!!!) In this age of video games and cell phone texting, it's pretty cool to share moments with my son enjoying a boy's simple and tradition past.! :)

That's great John. I can't wait to do the same with my nephews once they are a little bit older.

Good for you Jon. A nice visual expression of what father's day is all about. Enjoy the moment they grow up so very fast.

Welcome to the forum. You should start your son collecting the new Britains Redcoats and Bluecoats series which WB has made especially for new collectors in the hobby.

On Sunday night I did something similar with my son. He just wanted to play with some tanks I have (old Solido's from my childhood mixed with a few more recent Minichamps and FOV) and some plastic Britains/DSG, and on the carpet we went:D. Unfortunately it's not that frequent but it was fun.He is a seven year old boy, my boy, both a headache and a joy in my life:)...
Metal soldiers and old childhood Britains Deetail figures are off limits to him, though;).

Cheers,
Paulo

That's wonderful John. When my son was younger we did the same thing. He's older now and has different interests. Now, that he's very good on the guitar and is hoping to go to music school and I'm learning guitar, we talk music and power chords :).

Where are the Dervish warriors? Are they right around the next hill? The enemy could show at anytime! We need flanking cavalry on the dunes!
:p
Hey, I'm with ya ! Mine is 10 and he's the best! Welcome to this great forum!

I'm trying to do the same with my son, and even daughter, and my nephews.
