I bought a set of Patriot Napoleonic figures at the WestCoaster show a few weeks ago and am amazed at the quality. The poses are much more dramatic than K&C. I especially like the Good Commrade vignette, the loading skirmisher and the guard biting the cartridge. I sure hope they come out with more figures in this collection. I'd also like to see them come out with some British figures to go with these French figures and eventually a come out with a line of American Civil War figures. I don't know of any good quality Civil War figures.

K&C just introduced their new ACW line at the West Coaster -- there are photos in the K&C thread under the various "West Coaster" titles. Frontline also has a very extensive range of ACW figures. :)

As Steven pointed out, K&C just launched an excellent Civil War series, and Frontline makes a very high quality matt Civil War series of its own. I just pulled all of my Frontline Civil War out of Storage this weekend, and it is superior to just about everything else Civil War I had seen up to K&C's brand new release on the subject. Frontline sets are also quite affordable in comparison to some of the companies making glossy Civil War figures. If glossy is your thing, you just missed out: both Guard Corps and Imperial made very nice Civil War ranges, but both recently went out of business.

Patriot is superb! Some of the ACW figures in Conte are pretty nice if you can live with the painting.

I like the new line of Britains ACW as well and some of their past sets. I especially like the "Lone Star" and "Clear the Way" sets but, my favourite one from Britains is the "Gettysburg Union Command" set with the mounted General Winfield Scott Hancock. I would hope Britains would put out more larger Command sets for example General Longstreet with a flagbearer and an aide, all mounted in stationary positions observing the battlefield. I find that most of the time, I need to use several manufacturer's figures to get the right mix for a diorama. Although, that is part of the fun!
Also, Conte makes great Civil War figures but recently, I'm afraid that they are getting a little too bulky for mixing with other companies.
Some plastic companies I like are Accurate, TSSD, Call to Arms (CTA), Italeri and Armies in Plastic. When professionally painted, they fit right in with the metal and offer some more diversification to dioramas with some very interesting and unique poses.

Completely agree with the comment re Patriot's Naps. I got the entire range on my last Treefrog order. When you display them alongside K&C's Naps, they do look a bit bigger, but I think this is cos of the generally bigger bases.
The good comrade viginette is particulary good.
