Several classic war movies have been released on Blu-ray recently. I rented Battle of the Bulge and The Dirty Dozen on Blu-ray to see how they compared with my DVD version. I was really disappointed to find almost no improvement. However, the Blu-ray release of Patton is much improved over the DVD.

I'm still waiting to see the Blu-Ray version of 'A Bridge Too Far' and 'The Longest Day.'

What about the Battle of Britain, which is now available in Blue? I have been holding off getting a BR or HD player until the release availability sorted out but that could tilt it for me if it offers much improvement.

I plan to see the blu-ray version of Battle of Britain in the next few weeks. Although I have seen the DVD, I don't own it and therefore can't view them back to back to make a good comparison.

Fair enough, please post your impressions as too sharpness, clarity, HD quality etc when you do have the chance to see it though. Thanks much.
