Has anyone here served or had a family member serve? I am thinking about it and I am stuck on writing my essay...filled out the rest of the application. Just wanted some feed back from a trusted board because none of my friends have experience. Just thought I would ask Thanks.

My sister served in Tonga and afterwards was a Peace Corps recruiter out of the L.A. office.

I went through the application process, was accepted and offered a position in Kenya but turned it down(about the dumbest thing I've ever done)so never heard from them again.

The essay must have been the easiest part of the application for me because I've always been able to express myself well through writing-don't even remember writing the essay(that was about thirty years ago, though).

I have a younger cousin who was in the peace corps in Senegal. She very much valued her experience. If you can do it then go for it. I wish I had.
