I saw this posted on CTSC and thought it might be of interest to Britains collectors: It will certainly make some interesting dioramas. Now we just need some Victorian ladies for the men of the Lt.'s 24th Foot

Sorry this is so late in the month but we just finished them today! It is part of a new range that Britains will be debuting in the April catalogue. They have Redcoats, they have Bluecoats, now to balance it out- they have Petticoats! In my life BK (before Ken) I was a fashion historian for a couple of the big living history museums in the midwest so this range really makes me happy. It has been fun to see the clothing that I make for real people be replicated for little tiny tin people. Anyways, enough of my rambling. Here is my figure of the month, a Lady and her Soldier, circa 1815."

It's a very interesting idea from Britain's with lots of possibilities as you mentioned.

This "Pettiecoat Line" is a superb idea and will add plenty of display opportunities for the collector of the Redcoats/Bluecoats and FIW lines.
My 1st choice subject is the FIW and a larger display of the 1st Foot Guards.
There is a mounted figure of an Officer about to be released soon and I was wondering if there is a chance to see a Lady joining him. A "pettiecoat" figure, mounted on a "woman's saddle" dressed accordingly to the period of time. I do believe that would make an attractive variation to the "only warriors" display.

Wonderful line! Will make a great addition for those ceremonial dioramas. May just be the ticket to get the lovely wifes permission to spill out the collection to other parts of the house.

I agree with Konrad 100%. Potential for some very attractive and more unusual displays.
The possibilities are definitely there to get the ladies in our lives more involved in the hobby as well. My only disappointment is that they are Glossy which doesn't fit in with the rest of our TS collection. While I can, of course, see the attraction of Glossy, I think if I were to buy any of these them a repaint to matte would have to be attempted.

The WB Classic glossies are nothing like the traditonal glossy toy soldiers. They have taken them to a new level. Remember too that glossy works very well for pre-20th C.
