From Michael Herr's book "Dispatches".

“There was a black marine called Philly Dog who'd been a gang lord in Philadelphia and who was looking forward to some street fighting after six months in the jungle, he could show the kickers what he could do with some city ground. (In Hue he turned out to be incredibly valuable. I saw him pouring out about a hundred rounds of .30-caliber fire into a breach in the wall, laughing, 'You got to bring some to get some'; he seemed to be about the only man in Delta Company who hadn't been hurt yet.)”

Nice Steve. An interesting link between the Toy Soldier world and the Real world.
As Andy says, "Authentic Handmade HISTORY".

Cheers Larry, Yeah you read a non fiction book such as "Dispatches"and wonder what happened to some of these guys.
Think we know what happened to one of them, Marine correspondent Dale Dye laughing at bullets hitting the wall behind him, with all his movie work on Platoon, Band of Brothers, The Pacific and a lot of other TV / film work.
