This thread might as easily belong in Retired Manufacturers, but I flipped a coin and put it here.

Since Soldierpac announced that they are not producing the castings anymore, does anyone know of any other manufacturer who might produce any of the old Phoenix Model castings? I know John Eden, along with the old Gammage Rose Miniatures. Is there anyone else?

I think everyone will agree that Phoenix' diorama pieces were excellent (furniture, accessories), so much so that over the years, some commerical manufacturers "adopted" some of those pieces into their own sets. And who doesn't have a copy of the Georgian or Napoleonic British officers playing chess, or the general, in his cups, asleep by the fire, with his spaniel at his feet?

Prosit!

Have a look at their website http://www.soldierpac.com/ and you will be pleased to see that the Phoenix ranges are still being made.

Thanks, Jeff, but I think that they might just be liquidating their existing stock. When I saw the notice in Toy Soldier Collector, I emailed Soldierpac and got a response that they are selling off their entire business. They did ask if I would like to be added to their customer list, which will get passed along to whomever buys the business, but for the time being, it looks like whatever they have on hand is what will be available.

Regards,
Brad

Brad,

That's a bit of a bummer :( I used to buy the recasts they did, good value for money as well.

I hope somebody keeps the range going, as it would be great shame to see it disappear.

I am also looking for some Phoenix miniatures. Soldierpac is offline. Any other source for these figures?

Hi, twh, welcome to the forum!

I had contacted Soldierpac and asked whether anyone was going to pick the line of castings, and the said they would forward my message to whomever takes over the business. That is uncertain, of course, so in the meantime, as far as I know, we're only going to be able to find Phoenix figures on the secondary market (eg, eBay, flea markets, etc.).

Sorry I don't have better news, maybe someone else in the forum might.

Prost!
Bradley

Thanks, Baron, I appreciate the reply. I have only my own procrastination to blame for having not bought the figures I meant to buy a long time ago. Hopefully someone will pick up the molds and give us another chance.
