Here are some photos of my French fusilier company using First Legion figures. The French infantry company ranged anywhere from 40 to 100 men. I have chosen to represent one of 90 privates. For maximum firepower the company has been deployed in a line formation. The company is split into two sections, called Pelotons, each was three men deep. The first peloton was on the right and the second on the left. This information was taken from Emir Bukhari’s book call French Napoleonic Line Infantry.

My diorama still isn’t finish; the left peloton isn’t yet up to full strength. However I felt like it was far enough along to post some photos. The left peloton’s front line is starting to break it strict formation. The French companies by 1812 are filled with many raw conscripts without battlefield experience. As they get closer to the enemy formations the excitable and inexperienced conscripts have started to break formation to close the distance quicker.

Very nice Kings Man. That is an impressive collection you have there. Looks like you still have plenty of space to add a few more figures as well.

not my cup of tea, but i'm impressed by the neat formation.

simply awesome..

King's Man-
Looks amazing! You have done up a great diorama here, and the historical information you have added in the thread is just icing on the cake. It is nice to see something like this to visualize the formations that I have read about in books like Adkin's 'Waterloo'. Thanks for posting these.

What an Army, they are tempting for sure.

Thanks for sharing.

It is mine as well and I agree also. I can see I am suffering a French line infantry gap.;):D I would like to see those lads marching into the eyes of a proper British line, perhaps soon.:D

Great display. This type of diorama reminds me why I prefer collecting WWII........I can't afford all the duplicate figures necessary to create the proper lines and boxes of the Napoleonic era!

Wow! Kings Man.

What a great set up. Looking forward to the end result. What a Great layout.

Greetings

Definitely my cup of tea Kingsman,

Your FL figures look great, nice collection.

That is a fantastic collection and set up. They look absolutely brilliant set up in formation.

I like what you've done with the groundwork as well. I'm guessing it's in the main, to cover the basis, but it looks very pleasing to the eye as well.

Great job!

Excellent display. I really like it. Really succeeds to give you an idea of Napoleonic warfare.

Great display. This type of diorama reminds me why I prefer collecting WWII........I can't afford all the duplicate figures necessary to create the proper lines and boxes of the Napoleonic era!

Not sure I understand. For Napoleon's invasion of Russia you only need 250,000, for Hitler's at least 2,000,000. I think that is a substantial difference. :D

Impressive collection and display. Good depth!
Semper Fi!
