While surviving temperatures in the 90's and 100% humidity, I had the great pleasure of visiting Figarti's Shanghai factory.:)

DSCN0305a.jpg

Picture of the painting line ... 14 stations with each painter painting two to three details before the figure goes to the next station. In other rooms employees are cleaning the castings and assembling the figures.

DSCN0306a.jpg

Slightly blurry photo with Rick Wang of Figarti at the painting line.

DSCN0312a.jpg

Painted P-40's waiting for the Dick Rossi figure and final assembly and finishing.

Figarti actually machines each of the gun barrels for its new 150mm Japanese cannon for the Battle of Bataan.

More pictures from Figarti's factory. In the sculpting room, I watched sculptors carving 1/32 guns from strips of styrene plastic and assembling the master for the Japanese 150 mm cannon.:)

DSCN0313a.jpg

Future 150 mm Japanese cannon set for Battle of Bataan. As shown in the previous post, the gun barrel is machined.

DSCN0315a.jpg

At this stage, the breech can be opened but not sure if it will make it into production.

DSCN0316a.jpg

Slightly blurry close-up picture of breech and elevation mechanism.

DSCN0317a.jpg

Another view of cannon.

Picture of production rifle from Iwo Jima flag raising set. Even though my hand is more in focus, notice the 1/32 strap and buckles.

This one is for Brad. Picture of the last Honey and crew, which will be limited to 150 sets with the free diorama base pictured. The sign will have some wording. According to Rick Wang, the tank crew with his arm up is making fun of the MP.:)

Steven and Rick,

Thanks. Looks incredible and Steven, you must have had an incredible time.

Thank you Steven for posting pictures of Figarti figures and guns being produced and also your info on K&C sets. I appreciate you keeping us informed. John

I want them, I want them NOW!!!!

LOL,

Carlos

P.S. Great job getting the pictures to us Steve

I have to say, as loyal as I usually am to Andy & K&C, I buy every Figarti tank and will be ordering one of the 150 Stuarts with diorama and the P40! The stuff looks great, and I just can't resist the detail of the armor! Thanks Rick for producing it, and thanks Steve for the photos!

Steven, Great pictures! Really interesting seeing the production process.
Can,t imagine sitting there all day painting that small detail.
Is that plant owned by Figarti? And how big is it?
Gary

I was right, I was right, I was right. We ARE living in the beginning of the Golden Age of toy soldiers. Improved K&C, new releases from John Eden Studios, new version of Britains, and now Figarti. Oh boy, oh boy, this is really good stuff. That Japanese artillery piece is, for me, a gotta have.

Dear All,

Thanks for the encouraging words on the photos Steven posted. We had a good time in Shanghai and I want to thank Steven for taking time to post this thread. Gary, we own our factory, in fact, we are in the process of moving to a new site by year's end. We are not big, have a total work force of just under 60 people, but unlike the BIG factories down in south China, we are rather family-like and we don't make for anyone else. The Japanese type 89 150mm cannon is a fine detailed piece and anyone interested in the Pacific Theatre should like this. At Figarti, we are constantly trying to improve our quality and raise the standards for this industry. We also try to do different things. We have more exciting products coming, thank you all for your support.

Rick:
Great photos. I like your P-40 the most. Any possibility of having ground crew as a separate set?

How about a DAK Fieseler Storch, any plans on the horizon. This will be a best seller.

Dear Gary,
The plant is owned by Figarti in a leased factory building. I would guess the total sq. footage is 10,000. They recently purchased their own larger building and will be moving soon.:)
