Last Saturday I purchased a handful of sets of the Pike & Musket range at the Southeastern Toy Soldier Show in Columbia, SC from Tim Tyler of Troops of Time. I just have a general knowledge of the English Civil War. I do however have an interest in the Jamestown, Virginia settlement established in 1607. Currently, I am re-reading an excellent book on the era titled Love & Hate in Jamestown by David Price. One of my favorites. The figures are fantastic and some of my favorites from K & C. They fit the era of Jamestown pretty well. Is anyone else using these figures for something outside the English Civil War?

I do not collect these, but I admire them each and every time I am in the Sierra or Kings X. I have been told by other collectors at the shops that the artillery pieces can be used in many different ways/eras. Hopefully, one of the knowledgeable folks on this forum can expand on this topic.

During the 30 year war in Europe soldiers from England participated, recruited or offered as mercenaries. So certainly for this period 1618 onwards they would fit in and possibly for most of the 17th century in this part of the world. If in doubt use some artistic license, I know I do. These ECW figures are also going to fit in with the 3 Musketters series that is currently on the release list and has plans of expansion. These make for a very colourful collection and judging by the possible options yet to be produced, they will form a constant flood of releases for K&C for a good number of years to come. Robin.
