Those poses are fantastic! It's slightly ironic to see the 7th Luftwaffe shown as so aggressive, when almost without exception the Luftwaffe Field divisions were smashed in their first actions.

Further to my last....

As I have suddenly got a lot of 'home time', I've been researching the German divisions in France on D-day.

The 17th GAF fought in and was destroyed at Paris. Its survivors went to the 167th Infantry Div.

The 16th GAF was based in Holland initially but went to Normandy and was destroyed there. It's survivors were combined with the 158th Div's and became the 16th Infantry Div.

The 19th GAF was in Belgium but was sent to Italy, rather than Normandy. It operated against partisans before being sent to Denmark to reform as the 19th Infantry Div.

So quite a range of experiences but certainly a useful set to flesh out a Normandy battle. I've been having these with my son this week. He always chooses to be the Allies and has beaten me each time! Having some 70 Airfix paratroopers to land in my rear gives him quite the edge.

Plastic Platoon had posted new photos of the Red Army Assault Squad, due this summer.

The detail on these Plastic Platoon figures is better than anything else out there by far, truly amazing.

These are FJs/paras though, so tougher , but still suffered terrible casualties as too few in number to make a difference in Russia...
