I have been collecting W. Britain soldiers off and on since I was a boy growing up in Connecticut in the 1950s. Most recently I have been enjoying the Classic Bluecoats, Redcoats and French & Indian War series and am looking forward to the new Museum Collection. Therefore, it was especially exciting to be asked by Richard Walker to write material for the upcoming May catalog, placing 2 new Redcoats, 3 French & Indian War figures, and one of the new Museum Collection releases in their historic context. I am also developing similar material for the W. Britain website. The writings in the upcoming catalog are sections of longer essays that will eventually appear online as part of a series entitled “Battle Lines”. As a former teacher and research librarian, I hope these contributions will be of interest to collectors. I wish to thank Richard for asking me to be a part of the W. Britain family and Ken Osen for suggesting that I do this and for his continuing encouragement and expertise in all aspects of military history.

Randy: Congratulations on being asked to write about the new Britain's figures. I could not think of a better person to take on this project. Thanks John

It's nice knowing that Richard's let the little kid loose in the candy store Randy. Looking forward to seeing what's headed our way and a very wise choice Sir Richard on your part.......The Lt.

Randy, Glad to hear WBritains/Richard is using the talents available to him. I look forward to seeing your writing in the Standard and on the website.

Congratulations again, Randy. Cannot wait to see the new catalog with your contributions in it.

Hi Randy,
Great news! I think that bu providing more information on historically accurate figures Britains will pull in more collectors. Another consideration is to post this information on the WB website for modelers and high school students to access for school assignments. This may be one way to stimulate new collectors in the long run.
Best wishes,
Benjamin

Soon we'll be able to say, "I knew him back when he just did things on the Treefrog Forum..."

Here's to being rewarded for your good work!

Thanks Dick, Hugh, Dave, Benjamin, and Pete.

Benjamin-I totally agree about information for the young people both for educational purposes and to bring in new collectors to carry on what we are doing.

Pete-don't worry. I have a break now from WB assignments so am working on a new French & Indian War page for the TF Resources section.

I'm still just Polar Bear who enjoys taking pictures and posting on TF.:)

Hi Randy,

Congratulations! It could not happen to a nicer guy! I look forward to reading everything you write for the Community of Britains Collectors!

Warmest personal regards,

Pat :)

I must say that Randy's text in our upcoming catalog is a great step forward in putting our miniatures into historical context. This is an area that Richard and I have often hoped to develop but we always seem to run out of time when the deadline comes.
I am very happy to have Randy add his expertise here and I think it will make the future catalogs a great resource beyond a product development record.
Thanks for your great work!
Ken

Thanks Ken. You are inspiration to us all and a yardstick to measure our work against.

Congratulations, Randy,
it is a great pleasure to see you becoming a member of the Britains team and I am even more looking forward to the upcoming catalog now.
Great news and well deserved. Richard, Ken, the Britains crew couldn't pick a better one.

Wow! You're famous! A big congrats to you Randy and how appropriate that it would be you to do it. We've been begging the powers that be for years to add description to the catalog. This will be a great addition to the catalog.
Kudos to you!

My experience creating the web pages for the TF Resources section has been very helpful and I appreciate being able to do them. FIW Resources coming soon!
