Does anyone have any suggestions for the size of the initial digital photo used to post on the forum? I have found that taking a 5 megapixel photo and then trying to shrink it down to the size that can be posted causes the photo to loss a lot of resolution or makes it a very small sized picture. Should I set my camera to take a lower resolution (2 megapixel) photo?:(

What type camera and photo program are you using? I shoot with a

Nikon D100 and use Nikon View which allow you to adjust to any size photo

you need.

Dear John,
I am using a Canon SD400 -- a very compact digital camera. It comes with a photo program called ZoomBrowser EX.:)

I would try the 2 megapixel mode and see if that reduces the picture. I also choose 320 vs 640 for my image size, and save in jpg. format. These download on the forum with no problem.

Hey good luck, I used to use a Nikon F5 until their digital line came out. Now I use the D100 which allow me to use all the F5 lens and make a wonderful camera assortment.
My wife now uses the F5 but if I don't watch out she sneaks out with the digital.

Steven I've got the ZoomBrowser program also but I can't shrink sizes down to where I can post. If you figure it out let me know. I have heard that this is not the greatest of programs for configuring pictures...

As for your problem about your pictures being to large, if you have windows this is an easy fix. All you have to do is right click on the photo thats to large and then look for edit and click on that it will bring you to a place were you can do all kinds of things to your photos add text paint reduce ect, ect, look up in the top left hand corner you will see file, edit, image, click on image and a screen will pop up, click on srtech skew and another will pop up. there will be a strech with horizontal and vertical with a 100% in it that is ajustable just bring down the number say to 50% for ex. that will cut the picture size in half. just rember that you have to do the same thing to the vertical as well(reduce to 50%also)you my not need to reduce this munch you can start with maybe 90% and this may be enough if not just do it again but remember that you have already reduced the picture so the next time you reduce you may not need to reduce as munch. I hope this helps and I have not confused you.

Dear fishead19690,
I have also tried using the photo or picture editor in Windows to resize my photos. Like my photo editing program, the windows program causes the photo to loss a lot of resolution or makes it a very small sized picture.:(

Steve I also use a program I've had for years called LiveProView. It allows you to reduce your image with no loss of resolution. See if you can find it on the internet or send me an email and I will try and send it to you.

Dear John,
I received LiveProView and tried it out:

The resizing option works a lot better than the ZoomBrowser or Windows Picture and Fax View.:D Thanks for all the help. Now I can post pictures of K&C's Hong Kong office and store.:)

P.S. This is a picture of only 1 out of about 70 shelves at K&C's Hong Kong office. As you can see, it is packed with the elusive and rare "Winter" sets (and a prototype soldier with skis):D More to come.

Steven, please, please, please, keep posting those K&C Hong Kong Shop photos. The last time I was in Hong Kong was in 1980 and I don't believe I will be going back in the foreseeable future. Would it not be great for some independent film producer to do a documentary film about K&C. From conception to sales. Factory shots, show room shots, etc. Or even somebody on vacation with a video camera with showings at the Chicago show (I say Chicago because for me its within 10 hours driving distance) :) Michael

Steve,

Glad to be of assistance, thanks for the pictures of King & Countrys

showroom, keep em coming!

Dear John and Michael,
Since my pictures are from K&C's headquarters and Hong Kong store, I am going to post them in the K&C subcategory under a new thread, with one picture posted in the "So how many of you ..." thread as a response to noli-poli's wish list.:D

Great, I'm really looking forward to your shots from Andy C's shop!

What were you able to add to your collection from the shop? It must have

been Christmas morning all over again!

Njja:eek:

I haven't managed to shrink them yet - however I just send them to Shannon/Pete and they kindly post them in the album. Tried the windows thing but couldn't get it to work.

Maybe John (Njja) can send you the LiveProView program. It has a very easy resizing option -- click on resize, pick a size like 800 x 600, then save the newly shrunk picture.:)

LiveProView on a google search comes up empty. Any other suggestions? Njja could you forward me that program or a link?

Hi if you send me a message at njja@bellsouth.net I will be glad to send you a copy of my program, and offer some other options on adjusting your photos.

My pleasure to assist any Forum members I can!

Njja:)
