Rotating my displays over the last six months. Decided to store this German Army band for now. In the early 90’s I found a store in London that sold the 70mm Preiser/ Elastolin figures unpainted. Initially bought a drum corp (drum major, drums and fifes) then added the other instruments slowly. As I look at these figures, I can’t imagine the hours it took me to paint them! I even made some of the musicians NCO’s!!! I ended up painting many of the various ranges of these fine figures. The Elastolin/ Preiser range has always had a special place in my heart, since my parents brought me some painted figures from their trip to Europe in 1964.
