We are all collectors here and we discuss about the soldiers, the time period, the shows, the dioramas, the collections,...but there is not a lot talking of the price.
Well for new new figures we have the catalogue and the price list but how about the old ones that appear on Ebay, trade shows, internet sales,...?
It can be helpfull for a new buyers that will not pay too much because there is a lot of "rare" figures that maybe are not so rare so people can pay too much if they buy from first salesman.
So can you tell us what are or was the most expensives figures, which one we need to keep on eye if we buy,and what are the prices of this figures.
And also tell us which figure is the most expensive in your collection.

Yo Trooper, welcome to the forum. To answer your question is impossible IE: would have to know which Soldiers you are talking about, Old Britains, K&C, Chas Stadden, etc etc, etc its a minefield out there and you would need the information off the guy who is an expert in that field. If its K&C plenty of guys to help also the same goes for Old Britains. But to say which is the rarest out there is shooting for the moon.
Bernard.

Well i was thinking all the companys.I am interested in WBritains,King and Country,....because i am a collector that collects Zulu war, ceremonial, wild west,samurai,...but i will also like to collect some rare items not to make a set but just to feel special haha.
So it is not immportant which company, just tell me what ever you know.If you collect WBritain than tell me for Britains,....if you collect some other than tell me some other,....

Contact Brad (Jazzeum). He keeps track of ebay prices for King & Country, and sells an affordable list which gives a pretty good idea of the fair auction price of each set.

While it is a difficult hobby to price I don't think it is impossible. I think what this hobby does need is some kind of catalogue like say a stamp catalogue. Not only as a price guide but also as a way for new collectors to look back on models they may like to add to their collection. Therefore it would have a simple photo as well as price. I think such a tool would lift prices as collectors seek models which are not on current lists. When I was a youngster I used to have such booklets for stamps and comics. So why not soldiers?
At the end of the day though it would take a highly motivated individual to make it happen.

While such a price guide would be useful, the many manufacters and product

lines would make such a work extremely difficult at best. I have published

price guides in the past on Lionel Trains, Dinky Toys, Hess Trucks and a few

other subjects but the toy soldier market is currently such a fluid place

any work on the subject might be inaccurate by the time it was published.
