Just read the very interesting account of Private Hook at Rorkes Drift on Wikipeadia,well worth reading if you havn't seen it.Must say Zulu is one of my all time favourite films,the first i ever went to see,but it was way off with its description of Hook as a drunken,malingering layabout,He was a hero indeed.

I think the correct term was "malingering Hector";) What is that BTW?

See, you have to bear in mind that folk like doctors in the 19th century received "classical" educations, which is why their speech was littered with Latin and Ancient Greek references.
