This morning I had a notice saying I had 3 new messages, when i looked there was just 1 , anyone else had this??

To your specific issue, though, Rob....

How do you access the forum? That is, are you on a mobile device or phone, and what's the browser you use? I'm working on a laptop (a Dell E6440, running Windows 7 Pro), running Chrome 57. I got some PMs, and the counts displayed and the number of new messages matched each time. So maybe it's specific to the device and/or browser combination.

Possibly you didn't get to two of the messages quickly enough and they faded away with the decay of the electrons in the two messages over time. ^&grin

Or more likely a simple temporary glitch in the counter thinking a message had come in when it hadn't, or not reducing the counter after you opened a message.

Best strategy for now is keep an eye on it and see if it does it again.
