In all the threads I saw many different themes....Quality, prices, styles.But the main problem for me is another one:" space". Until you dont' t live in a castle or a palace a toysoldier collection must have an end ( apart if you don' t sell and buy new items). It is not a collection of stamps or coins. How do you do? Will your collection finish one day? Do you sell and buy again? Do you keep your toysoldiers in boxes and sometimes you change your displays? Thanks everybody for answers...

You are right.
Place is a big problem for toy soldiers collectors.:redface2:
My chance is I only collect figures from WW1.:)
I make dioramas only with the mate collection.(K&C, WB, Frontline) The figures in glossy (WB premier series) are simply presented on my display.

I hope my collection will never finish....

This exact question was just brought up a couple of weeks ago. See "Who's running out of space?", posted 7/11/12, under this section. Quite a few of us have this problem.:wink2: -- Al

I see...I have different ages so I made more and bigger dios(3) about my favourite time ( germans WW2); 1 big about WW1;a few small about Napoleon in Russia, Napoleon in Egypt ( still to be made), american revolution; and variuos displays on the shelves about Alamo, crusades, some Naps, civil war, indians....I also hope the collection will never finish, but I also enjoy watching it for hours...:p

Poppo,

I have an office upstairs that is bursting at the seams. I don't normally leave anything at all in its boxes and have everything out on show, however my wife has agreed that at some point we will convert the garage into my office which will give me so much more space, so until then I don't mind putting the odd thing back in its box.

Cheers

Rob

Yes, people who live in houses have more space, but I live in a 2 rooms flat...
Hopefully, I could realize all what I liked: 3 dios germans WW2, 1 germans WW1, 1 Zulus, 1 American revolution, 1 crusades, 2 little on napoleon army just to show the uniforms and other simple displays on other themes like ACW, indians or alamo....I like the variety and what I would like more has not been made, so I can relax!{sm4}

A collector will run out of space before
he runs out of money
The longer u collect the more space u need

Right! Everybody has the same problem...But at least ,the lack of space can make us more reasonable and more selective in our buying, as someone said....
