I am currently stocking up on the Australian Light Horse - I love them. Brilliant series. However, I have ordered a fair few recently causing the website to show Out Of Stock (blame me if you have been left without!). My question is this, how many figures are produced from each mould. I know the lines all end but how limited are K&C figures? I'm sure there's no definitive answer but an estimate is what I'm really after.

Plus has anyone seen a K&C WW1 MkIV tank for sale anywhere? I've got one but want another!

Difficult question. As far as I know, the only sets with production numbers are the (SL) Special Limited Editions and recent models in the 250 series. Most of the K&C sets were produced until K&C stopped production. Older sets from 10 years ago were produced in smaller numbers than those of 4 - 5 years ago which may be the largest runs. Current unlimited sets are probably smaller.

There was some discussion on this topic a while back as to what the largest production runs were. And Louis Badolato may have reference production numbers in the K&C books that were done.

Hard to know the answer to that question. As an Australian dealer I pay particular attention to the Lighthorse series and can see when some have gone out of stock and are having another run. The more popular an item the more likelihood it will have a few production runs. EA009 the 4 man Desert rat set is a good example of a set that was around for a while and as a result many more would have been made than normal.

The variation in numbers could be quite considerable. Dead figures seem to be retired quicker than most but a standing firing Napoleonic type figure would sell multiples more. Even within the Lighthorse series the difference in numbers made would be very significant between for example AL006 with the dead horse (1st to retire) and AL004 Charging with bayonet forward.

It would be interesting to know which has been best selling figure of all. I would guess a marching (ie. LAH) or standing firing (ie. Blackwatch Napoleonic) type.
