I was researching the Napoleonic era online and came across a website devoted to the restoration of Hougoumont, the farmhouse that played a significant role in the 1815 Battle of Waterloo, at the conclusion of the Napoleonic Wars. The restoration program is called Project Hougoumont and here is a link to the website:

Seeing this gave me the idea to create a diorama depicting a gathering of 21st Century re-enactors assembled at Hougoumont as part of the project's fund raising activities. The re-enactors came from a number of European countries and some from the United States and Canada. Here we see a demonstration by 2 members of a re-enactment group representing the Nassau 2nd Light Infantry (in green) and 2 re-enactors of the French Light Infantry Voltigeurs (in grey greatcoats) while a re-enactor from the UK dressed as a member of the heroic Coldstream Guards: Light Company looks on. In the background a cantiniere ( the spouse of one of the Voltigeurs) serves refreshments to a French Cuirassier.
Figures by W. Britain (Nassau, Voltigeurs, Coldstream Guard) and King & Country (cantiniere and cuirassier). Despite difference in scale the figures by the 2 manufacturers work well in this setup)
