:D Thank you Jim.With so many people due to be promoted, pretty soon the Ritz will be full of officers and the trenches empty!

Seems as a 2nd Lt. I'm going to have to preform duties as a Generals Aide and take care of all you spoiled Brats with Stars on your shoulders. It's soon to be a requirement of all junior 2nd Louie's assigned to the forum....The Lt.

Not at all Joe.If i ask you to pop out and get some more Cubans and a case of Red,i'm sure as a 2nd Lt you can delegate it to someone else!.:D

It's not always the case My General.....The Lt.

Excuse me Sir.....I hate to bother you while you are in discussions with that Scotch Bottle - but, your squares have been broken and ...well...we are in retreat

Should we plan our surrender now for Le Marshal Ron ?? :D

Ron,we are in the First world war now mate.Even us Brits had stopped using squares by then!:D Now pass the Brandy and lets discuss how we are going to shift Jerry from the Somme.

Rob

I would suggest getting our troops to pop out from their trenches and walk straight towards the enemy guns in a slow methodical manner. It's the same tactic we've used the last 17 times, so it's exactly the last thing Jerry will be expecting us to do this time.

Funny and sad because its true. Blackadder really nailed it didn't it.Its easy now to forget because it was a few years ago now,but that programme had a huge effect on public opinion regarding WW1.

Rob

Yep, definately the best of the four series on several different levels and the closing scene of the last episode was very carefully done and well thought out.

Simon

Yes that final scene was so moving. After the cynical humour throughout the series the final scene was the reality of what happened.Classic.
