Hi all, a german dealer (Hadriansvilla) announced a new figure line : Prussian Grenadiers of Frederick the Greats "Seven Years War". Any other informations about this?
Regards from
Hans

I know John was in Germany recently. It makes sense to start a seven years war series as part of the FI and Jacobite lines. Any German speakers?

I do remember that on one of his visits to NY he mentioned an interest in a "Frederick the Great" series.

Could mean further damage to my TS budget if JJD gets into this:wink2: -- Al

Jawoi!

"In conclusion, an important piece of news. John Jenkins is blending his French and Indian War series into a series on the Seven Years' War in Europe. He is particularly interested in Prussian grenadiers. The series will begin in about 3 or 4 months"

What's the source for this quote? I'm curious to see more info, too.

Prost!

I followed the link given under "Travels and Shows for 2011" to the German seller's website and found this: http://rr-zinnfiguren.com/shop/page/3?shop_param=

So I guess the cats out of the bag. Sounds like a winner that may satisfy the French-Indian war collectors.

Ah, thanks very much for the link! In light of the rest of Rothermel's post, I must my translation of the sentence, "Er zeigte reges Interesse an die preussischen Grenadieren", to "He (meaning John) showed great interest in the Prussian grenadiers" (on display in that stall). Still, it gives a clue, perhaps, to possible initial figures in a future Jenkins SYW series.

Prost!

Sounds very intriguing!!!

Some very great looking uniforms in the Prussian army (besides the renowned Grenadiers, there is also the famous Deaths head Hussars)!

And the opponents, especially the Austrians and Russians, looks every bit as exciting with Hungarian Hussars and Excotic looking Croats, Bosnians and Cossacks!

Simply can't wait to see what's coming:)

Brad,

Going on some of the figures already in John's range, from Jacobite rebellion and the Fench Indian Wars, he already has the basics for the British and the French forces.

I'm sure with some minor changes he will have them covered, so I sure hope that the Prussians are coming :confused:

I have painted 3 x British Grenadiers he gave me as resin castings as Brits from the Batlle of Minden, and I still have a couple of soldiers in tricorns to join them soon. I hadn't posted images of them, becuse when I got the figures he dind't want them published, but following the release of the Ticonderoga 42nd Foot, he gave permission for me to show them, so I will now put the grendiers up and also show them here in the Forum.

Therefore if he goes for Minden we should be having British, Hanoverians, Hessians and Prussians against French and Saxons ^&grin^&grin^&grin

Here's hoping...

John

Oh no ..... {sm2} ..... I will also have to tally a vote into the "Look for things to cut out of my budget to make room for the Prussians". Hummmmm:confused:

Food .... nope; Gas for the car .... nope; Mortgage .... nope; Cheetos ... YES:cool:

Even though no one has asked for it....

here are the figures I painted for the Battle of Minden in 1759 and the Grenadiers are form the 12th Regt of Foot.

others I have painted are these 3 from North America

Now I'd better get 2 more done :smile2:

Beautiful job on these. Great things are possible with this series. -- Al

Hi Guys,
as the owner of HADRIANSVILLA (www.hadriansvilla.de) I just would like to inform you, that John Jenkins visited my fellow dealer Ralf Rothermel and me in Germany. He showed us the prototype of a new figure, but we had to promise not to show the figure itself or to make known pictures of it on our websites. But I can promise, the figure is a real beauty !
The most important thing in my opinion is, that John is a very friendly and open hearted man and producer, who really hears, what we (collectors and dealers) like to get in the future.
So don t worry, be happy...!
best regards from Germany
Marcus
