Hi there. I am quite new to Collecting FL Figures, was more with K&C and Elastolin in the past.
I just bought some very nice French Cuirassiers, but by accident I discovered something, that I have to ask about.
One of the figures had a minor paint chip on the leg of the horse and it seems as if there is a wire-string inside the figure!?
Is this correct? Is it for more stability of the fragile horse legs? Are there any known Problems with easily breaking horse legs, maybe?
Best Regards Stefan

I have many of them from various periods and never had a break or bend. I do suspect they are reinforced but I have never had a chip like that either.

If you bought it from a dealer they should replace it at no cost. I had the same issue with one FL mounted figure, returned it and got a replacement free of charge.

No, bought it from ebay, but this minor damage is no problem to me.
Just wanted to know, if there is always a wire string inside the figures to reinforce them.

Hi,
Yes FL horses legs are reinforced with wire (piano wire) for installation on two or leg.
I do not know this problem on all riders of my collection
Guy.:salute::

Interesting- I am glad to know they do that, and I hope others follow suit.

I doubt those legs will ever sag if they are re-inforced with piano wire...
