Has anyone purchased any of the unpainted metal sets that are offered on ebay from Russia? Want to know if they are same size as First Legion figures.

Joe

Do you have a particular range in mind as far as FL goes

I collect the Romans, Germans,Gauls , Greeks, Macedonians, and Persians ,saw a Roman "Scorpion" with crew and also a Persian war chariot on Ebay. Just want to know if they would fit in with these FL figures. They are unpainted and I would have a good time painting them.

Hi Joe

I have bought a number of kits to add to my FL Roman dio.

One thing when buying kits is that scales are not really consistent.

The first below is a Masterclass figure on the left with FL on right. I had it assembled and painted by Dave at TM Terrain and it works really well.

The second figure I have bought was an Elite figure however, he was somewhat larger than the Masterclass figure.

He still works but is at the back of the dio. Again Dave at TM Terrain assembled and painted him for me.

I have not bought any Romans yet because I need to identify some good decals first, in order to make the shields look good.

I have recently bought this figure from Tin Warriors via Amazon. It was packed v badly and the sword was broken. Another medieval figure I bought was also damaged.

Scale wise it works v well and Dave at TM Terrain is currently working on this one for me

Thanks Gaza, those pictures help out also great painting from Dave

Your welcome Joe. Scale is the only problem and to be honest it is a bit hit and miss unless you can see them first hand. I just took a punt.

I also have seen some other castings that I may get, so will keep you posted. I like the idea of a Gaul / Barbarian horde to attack the outnumbered Romans ^&grin

Dave at T M Terrain is great. As Mark says he can turn his hand to most things. Also one of the nicest guys in the business.

Cheers

Gazza
