Hi Guys,
1) Actually Chuck, our recently retired “Deuce and a Half” GMC truck with the black driver was a kind of a tribute to the “Red Ball”.
2) Talking of “retired items” – how do we make our decisions?
Well, we look at our sales figures – how fast is an item going? We also look at the model itself – can we improve it? Generally, how popular is it?
We also believe that although the market continues to grow and expand everything has a definite “shelf life”.
We also, importantly, in order to bring in all-new items have limited warehouse capacity and therefore have to “let go” some of our older pieces. So, it’s a combination of all of these points.
3) Selling Prototypes As some of you know we’re occasionally sold some of our vehicle prototypes, that for whatever reason, never went into full production.
I don’t think I’m interested in selling off similar production ‘propotypes” or “first paint samples” of figures. Quite frankly it’s too time consuming and I think it might open a whole can of worms. To be honest, I might even cease selling any vehicle prototypes as well.
4) Suggestions for figures are always welcome – some of K&C’s best figures have came from ideas of K&C collectors.
Well that’s the story so far.
Best wishes and…happy collecting!
