In response to a picture of Honour Bound, I commented that the figures looked a bit slimmer than K&C and the response from HB was the slimmer figures was their unique style.
Having said the above, will NMA be their own style per se or will they go hand in hand, especially size wise with K&C.
My hope is that the new companies will supplement K&C, do their own thing ,but be fully compatable with K&C.
I would want to put a K&C figure next to a NMA figure and not notice a real difference.
In the 54mm line a Conte figure can be placed next to an ONTC figure and size is not a problem, although you can tell a slight difference in style.
Also, after the morter set in March will there be a regular release of sets after that?

Dear Gary
Thank you for your question and many people have asked me the same question. When we set up The New Model Army company our remit was the following for our product:

1. Same quality of painting as K&C
2. Same weight as K&C
3. Same size as K&C
4. Same standard of sculpting as K&C

Now I am sure that will be very difficult if not impossible to achieve the above every time and only time will tell. But to give you an idea, the mortar team shown in the brochure was sculpted 3 times to achieve it's current look. It has now been sent back for very minor cosmetic improvements including adding etched detail to the closed ammo box (same as the open box) and a carrying handle added as well. I felt at times the Chinese manufacturers would at one stage tell us they did not want us for clients any longer because of the changes and demands we kept placing on them. God bless them though they stuck with us and now we have a great result. I look at it now and can still see areas we can improve on which we will incorporate into the next release.
For the record and people have asked - The mortar itself is an all metal piece affair that will come in 2 pieces - this means that the barrel wiill rotate on it's base for different firing positions if required.
We have pre orders for 150 already after only releasing dealer terms 4 days ago so I have been overwhelmed by the response.
I fly to China next week with Blake to see the new planned releases some of which will be ready in April. We plan to have the complete first release of 5 sets available for the London show in June. Wait until you see what we have planned for the Chicago show is all I can say!:)
Regards Mike

Thanks Mike, I just received an email from one of your dealers who also said your figures will go hand in hand with K&C, GREAT. I also just pre ordered a morter set from him.
Please don,t mention the Chicago show, I was just thinking the other day, about 7 months till OTSN. Now I have even more to look forward too.
Again, Good Luck, a true collecter can never have enough quality soldiers and will always find a way to pay for them.

Hey Mike, with the morter set expected the middle of March, any time frame on other sets and what they will be?
Thanks, Gary

Hi Mike,

I hope things are going well as planned. Speaking of plans, will you or any of your dealers have your new sets available at the West Coaster Show in Anaheim, March 5th? If so, which ones?

Hi gary
sorry for the delay but been in china picking up some sets of SS1 for distribution and to discuss the next 4 new releases.
The next 3 sets are due out in April but it is too early to advertise anything specific at the moment. Anyway I hope you will all like what you see - I certainly did and SS 5 BLEW my mind away!
regards Mike

Hi Carlos
Craig from the Old Toy Soldier Home will have a set of SS1 for display at the show. I could only pick up 3 sets this trip - 1 set is going to Italy for a show there and the other set is being used for the UK show in March. The other 297 sets should be available for distribution around the middle of March.

Yes there will be sets at the London show in March. I believe there will be 2 dealers with sets of SS1 on display. We will not be displaying in person as our big launch with sets SS1 to SS6 is at the June show later on in the year.
The 2 UK dealers with our sets for display at the moment will be Peter Dale from 'Britains toy soldiers' and Ken Jackson from 'Maison Militaire'

Regards Mike

Thanks for the iformation Mike, I look forward to seeing that and many other items whilst at the show...

150 sets of SS1 here in the UK now - just finished checking them all for any flaws. Each set comes with a signed label stuck inside the top of the box stating it is number so and so of 300. Will be sending them to dealers at the end of the week. I hope you enjoy!!:)
Regards Mike

I had pre-order one and I am really impatient to see it 'for real'.

Pierre.
