Mainly for Bernard as he seems to be collecting the entire British Cavalry section LOL

I have recently been doing a little research on different regiments that would have been around when QEII was Coronated. Aside from the Golden Jubilee series from Britains (48 sets to collect) I have also added 21 other Cavalry regiments (Have yet to start on the Infantry).

My questions are :

I know with the guards uniform the button arrangement is different as are the plumes, but for the most part are similar. Is this the case with the Dragoons, Lancers & Hussars ??? Can I take a Lancer, Hussar or Dragoon and repaint them with out to much concern. I am talking about the New Britains figures by the way. Could the Lifeguards/Blue & Royals be repainted as Dragoons (1st King's, Queen's Bays etc...)

Also is there a book that you can recommend on more current regiments/uniforms etc (about 1950's style)

Thanks for any help

Scott

Yo Scott, you can change any Hussar into another Hussar, same with Dragoons and Lancers thats Victorian style, you could change the Life guards & Horse Guards into Dragoons. 1950s style all Regiments wore Battle Dress very little difference in any except cap Badges & battle honours worn as embroiderd badges usually on the arms. The 1st Tanks had black webbing some others maybe, but most had yellow webbing, only other difference were the stable belts worn with short sleeve order, each Regiment had its own colour stable belts ie: Brown, Red, & Green Royal Tank Regiments, hence their motto, THROUGH MUD AND BLOOD TO GREEN FIELDS BEYOND.
Bernard.

yes i agree updated versions of some of the ceremonial horses (Life guards/Horse guards) with more detail more along the lines of the new mounted royal horse artillery would be great!!
