Hello folks,
Has anyone here purchased the 9 piece set of John's Imperia Japanese Navy Carrier Deck sections?

IJN-100 -> IJN-900

I am pondering getting them, but I can't recall seeing any displayed here or even any comments about them.
I did begin constructing the Japanees Carrier decks myself, but it looks like it will be a effort to accomplish what John has already has acheived.

The cost @ $128/section would end up costing me from $1152 to $1536 if I extened the deck a bit (using 12 sections)
Still looks like a long winter ahead so ... ? :rolleyes2:

Thanks

I have been tempted myself. The US carrier bases are amazing, so I'm sure these would be a stunning display.
Maybe the reason we have not seen them shared or talked about is that there are no deck crews released or planned, so you could only add the few K&C figures of mechanics and IJN pilots to populate the huge base.
Recently I have been planning a "Kido Butai" display and again gave it a thought, but for now have decided against it...

Thank you for the feedback. :D

John made a public announcement a while back saying that he had no intention of moving into the Japanese WWII era with anything more than the carrier decks. At the time K&C and Thomas Gunn were making regular releases on the Japanese planes, fugures and such.

I have several K&C WWII Japanese plans and a pile of the Naval figures. With what K&C released it will make an impressive display. The cost of getting 9 or 12 JJD deck pieces has been a factor (to some point) but if I did that it might prevent me from purchasing other items (K&C or TG or JJD)

There had been numerou displays of the USS Bunker Hill decks and some Interwar Aviation SARA displays, which were always impressive. But, before I comititted about $1600.00 I was hoping to get an idea how they looked in person from the folks who purchased them.

Thanks again and GOOD HUNTING!
