Just curious, but what type of figure do most people here (on this forum) collect?

I mean, does everyone buy a certain brand or do most people "make" their own soldiers (mold, paint, etc.).

I see so many different types of soldiers, and so many different painting styles that I could only conclude that people must be making their own soldiers (and painting them).

Just curious.....

(I know this may not be 100% relevant to the Painting forum, but its as close as I could find).

Hi Aggie, welcome to the forum. Most people collect according to one or more themes ie WW2, Zulu War, one particular regiment through the ages, musicians etc. You will find that Wadepat has a main theme of the Delhi Durbar, The Lieutenant specialises in Zulu War, UKReb is an authority on the ACW and so on.
The majority collect finished figures, but a considerable number purchase castings and paint them themselves, a very satisfying pastime. A small number scratchbuild their own, but the disciplines needed for this put most hobbyists off but don't let that stop you having a go.
You will aso find lots of help on the forum, if you have a problem or query just ask. Hope this helps. Trooper.
