Can anyone tell me if I could get away with using this figure as a Tory and put him among my British figures in terms of his appearance (does the green feather signify the Patriots)?

His pose doesn't fit in with the scene I am creating for the Patriots side, but he looks good with my British troops in a farmyard scene.

I like to portray historically accurate displays and wouldn't want to place him on the wrong side!

Cornwallis,

Just paint the green leaf on his hat white and you will be fine. Typically, the Tories placed white paper, white cloth or white feathers on their hats to identify themselves. The Patriots used green as their color and it was typically off a plant/tree.

No one will know the difference.

Post some pics when you get done. I would like to see it.

Thanks for the info Darrell.

Bearing in mind what you've said, instead of painting the feather I could perhaps use him as either a deserter or spy reporting in and get away with leaving him as he is, I should have thought about that before! :)

Nice figure but hit the nose cap of his Brown Bess with brass color and the sling swivels with silver for iron or steel. I'm looking at mine right now.

Tom-
Darrell is completly right. This figure with a white leaf would be a perfect Tory. Of course, if you were really feeling brave, you could get out the Dremel and sandpaper......
