Thinking about adding the Brit Para walking wounded team to a diorama, but is it possible to use the Brit Paras and the U.S.Paras in a diorama setting together??? I know both units fought in different locations during Normandy, but would really like to add this set to my medic station, just trying to keep the scene as factual as possible.

Thats a really good question.

certainly not in Sicily or Normandy or even Market Garden. They were dropped so far apart.

But in operation Varsity in Germany in 1945 both US 17th Airborne and Brit 6th Para did drop alongside each other and there must have been a good chance they would have had some overlap so some small units ended up together.

Cheers,

Stefan

Thanks Stefan....I would like to think at some point during Operation Varsity the Brits and U.S. Paras possibly shared a field hospital for the wounded, thanks for your help...Sammy

Reference see the entry below from Wikipedia about Op Varsity:_

The airborne forces made several mistakes, most notably when pilot error caused paratroopers from the 513th Parachute Infantry Regiment, a regiment of the U.S. 17th Airborne Division, to miss their drop zone and land on a British drop zone instead.
So British and American paras were together.
Hope this helps?

There is an episode in ''Band of Brothers" where Easy Co. is assigned a mission to help a group Red Devils retreat back over a river at the end of ''Market Garden''. I believe those stories are based on fact, so you might want to give that a look.

It's episode 5 "Crossroads"

[h=2]Storyline[/h]Captain Winters leads Easy Company in an attack on what they thought was a machine gun nest but turns out to 2 Companies of German SS who also have artillery support. The attack is successful in that they virtually wipe out the enemy but they do suffer many casualties. He soon finds himself promoted as the 2nd Battalion's Executive Officer and while he has concern about leaving Easy Company, he knows they are in good hands with Lt. Moose Heyliger. In the aftermath of the disastrous Operation Market Garden, Easy Company is assigned to assist a large group of British paras who are trapped behind enemy lines. Later, with Christmas approaching, the men suddenly find all passes canceled and they are quickly moved to Bastogne to help defend the city from the German offensive. The company is now led by Lt. Norman Dike, for whom the men have little respect.

Another interesting note is that the SS were Georgians led by Germans.
