Hi.
I sold a set of toy soldiers on Ebay to someone in Greece. I filled out a U.S. Customs form for the toy soldiers valued at $155. When the buyer received the set, U.S. Customs changed the value of the set to $255. My buyer is livid over having to pay taxes above what the set us valued.
Does anyone know what I should do?
I have the post office paper work showing that the set was valued at $155.
Thanks

If you sent it priority, you automatically receive $100 in insurance so I wonder if they added in the insurance. It seems unusual to me that Customs would change the value without first notifying you that it disputed the value. I’d probably first ask the buyer to send you a copy of the Customs form showing the increased value and if the numbers match up, go to your PO and if they refer you to Customs, ask for a contact number.
