Radio Antennaes (1 Viewer)

Somehow I have misplaced (lost) a couple of the black plastic radio antennas for some of my HB tanks. I would also like to put some antennas on some other tanks and the plastic rods that HB uses are acceptable. Does anyone know a web site where these might be bought?

Michael,

Have you tried e-mailing Ana?
She has been very helpful to me in the past.

Yes I did, I am just attempting to cover all the bases.

Ops, I forgot, you are from the UK. “Cover all the bases” is a sports analogy. It’s a term used to make sure all the defensive base players (1st, 2nd, 3rd and home) are close to their respective bases or that the bases are covered by the nearest other defensive player to “put out” base runners who attempt to either “steal” (run between pitches without the batter hitting or swinging) or as the batter hits, to tag the offensive runner out at the first base closest to home first and then any other available base. There are many variations to stealing bases such as after the batter strikes or tagging up after the ball is caught. In simpler terms it just means making sure all my options are used. Baseball may be slow in it’s progress but it is complicated in its rules.

No worries, that phrase has made it across the Atlantic and is in common usage here in the UK.

There is a little baseball played here in the UK, but unfortunately, it seems that some people buying baseball bats have other ideas as to how they are best used.

Cheers,
Simon

A cheaper alternative would be stretched sprue.

I concur! HB has taken care of a few similar minor problems for me in the past. Their customer service is excellent-which I very much appreciate!

I use guitar strings. Once glued, they are flexible and bendable just like the real thing.

What tends to worry me is that visitors to our apartment inevitably like to get "up close and personal" with our collection, cos they've never seen anything like it before. Stuff like antennaes whether they're plastic, metal, whatever, can easily cause an eye injury. I don't think the compensation culture has taken off in China yet, but wouldn't like to take a chance on more immediate compensatory action being resorted to if anyone hurts themselves. Its one of the reasons why I've been considering encasing our WWII displays with some clear plastic sheets.
Cheers

You could stick a cork on the end of the aerial. Hazard assessed, control measure identified and implimented - job's a good 'un.:)
Or, if you don't want to sacrifice that edge of gritty realism, issue all guests with pirate eyepatches.
Some days, I'm just too helpful.

Check these guys out. I recently purchased a 24"x24"x6" acrylic case with base for a K&C Napoleonic square and I am very satisfied. I paid $133 including shipping, a bit more than I expected to spend but the workmanship is superior and the acrylic is substantial and not plexi-glass as some are. I will be getting more. They have many pictures of their product. PS, I don't work for them and there are many of our dealer friends who also carry covers.

Easier and cheaper just to wire up the displays to the 240v mains power. That'll make the guests stand back. Either that, or make their hair stand on end.:D:D:D

Well, well, well dress me up, give me a perm, and call me Sally. :p:eek: Thank you Anna.:):)

I had the radio antennas all along. Pay attention you fellows that are making a pagan blood sacrifice to your collection every time you impale yourself in one of those metal antennae. :pBlack broom bristles, yes sir, simple broom parts. I have hundreds of antennas in my black shop broom out in the garage.:)

Nice one Michael!

All I've got to do now, is convince my wife that if I buy 2,000 HB tanks, I'll be able to sweep up the back yard.
Might take some working on though....

I agree. I am also able to obtain some guidewires that are used to guide cannulas into arteries. They are great for antennae and they are quite flexible also. They are a bit tricky to paint, but look nice when comleted.
