I'm just curious as to how those of you who display your K&C sets in a dioramas, display WS44, Assault Engineers in Raft. I tend to try to set up little dioramas within my curio shelves and would like to do something with this set. I have seen Marching Through Times' website sells a nice looking river section which I'm tempted to purchase but am curious as to how others have displayed this set.

Our good friend Brian has made fantastic dioramas with the pontoon bridge and engineers. Drop him a private message, and he will help you out.

Hans bought Brian's first pontoon bridge diorama. It is really cool. It was a big hit at the Chicago show last year. In all honesty, Brian's dioramas are on a par with the K&C dioramas designed by Andy and produced by Andy's brother Gordon Neilson. Being a purest, however, I only collect the K&C dioramas.

Since this forum is a way to put a bug in Andy's ear, so to speak, I'd just like to say I do wish Andy would continue with a few more amphibious german concepts like this one. The raft engineers was my first K&C purchase and it hooked me big time. I loved to see more raft boat sets similar to the one done or possibly germans walking a raft to the water etc...

I'd like to see an American pontoon bridge crew or a British Bailey Bridge crew in action.

I agree with Louis....we need a pontoon bridge however that will support tanks. You pretty much can only have infantry and maybe the Krupp truck going across the German one. That 222 I repainted in ETO grey looks very good going over the bridge. But a tank pontoon might be too big.....the box for the german bridge was pretty heavy and we dont want it to get too big or we run into the weight problems and shipping that are causing the problems with the Berlin Building. But boy oh boy wouldnt that be cool....a row of tanks rolling across the Rhine! Maybe do a Patton figure standing on the edge like the famous photo!

You want to see an original of that photo? My best friend and the best man at my wedding, Bill McGrath, has one. The GI in the right foreground of the photo is his father, William McGrath, Sr., who was a communications sergeant with Patton. Mr. McGrath was decorated with a silver star and two bronze stars for keeping communications with the front open at great risk to his life and limb. Bill sent an email to Andy asking him to make a Patton figure, and telling his father's story, about a year before the Patton Command Car came out. I don't know if the email had anything to do with the Patton set, but I'd like to think it did.

Wow thats something Louis. I can imagine the interesting stories your friend has of his father and Patton. He must be very proud.
The reason I mention expanding upon the german raft concept is because the only set I purchased was the raft engineers and would like to supplement them with something else. I passed on the pontoon bridge because, just as Warbuff26 mentioned, the bridge is too narrow for tanks. I do agree a tank supporting bridge may have the size/weight issues but maybe Andy can figure some way around this. I would also like to see an allied pontoon bridge. Even possibly the bridges used to unload cargo and vehicles from the boats on D-Day. I know this would be large but maybe just a section embarking their load onto the beaches to go along with the D-Day sets.
